MicroBlading: Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the Beautiful Beauty Ink FAQ! As an expert microblading artist and the owner of BeautifulBeautyInk.com, I’m here to guide you through everything you need to know about microblading, from the process itself to pre- and post-care. I want you to feel completely informed and confident, so let’s dive into some common questions I get from clients.
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique designed to create natural, full, and perfectly shaped brows. Unlike traditional tattooing, microblading is less invasive and uses a hand-held tool with ultra-fine needles to meticulously create each 'hair' stroke.
This gives a natural look that lasts about 1-3 years, depending on factors like skin type and skincare routine. Microblading is a fantastic solution for enhancing or reconstructing eyebrows, particularly for those with sparse, over-plucked, or thinning brows.
We carefully match the pigment to your natural brow color and skin tone to give you a flawless, beautiful finish.
How long does it take?
Your initial microblading session usually takes anywhere from 2.5-4 hours. We start by discussing your brow goals, shaping your brows, and mapping them out for you to see and approved of the shape and selecting the perfect pigment together. Once we’re both happy with the plan, I begin the detailed process of microblading. A follow-up session, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, is scheduled 6-8 weeks later to perfect any areas and ensure everything looks stunning..
How long does it take to heal?
The healing process varies for each person, but generally, it takes around 7-14 days for the surface of your skin to heal and up to a month for the color to fully settle.
Immediately after the procedure, your brows may look darker and slightly red, which is completely normal.
As they heal, the color will soften and naturalize. It’s important not to pick at any scabs to prevent affecting the final result.
You’ll see the true color emerge gradually over the month as the brows fully set.
Is the touch-up session necessary?
Yes, it is! The touch-up session is essential for making sure your brows look their absolute best.
It’s natural for some areas to heal lighter or require additional strokes.
During the follow-up, I fine-tune the shape, color, and fullness, especially for clients with oily skin who may need a deeper pigment.
Can I get my touch-up sooner than 4 weeks?
It’s best to wait the full 4 weeks before a touch-up. This allows the pigment to settle and the skin to heal, which reduces the risk of scarring. Patience pays off here for the best results!
Is it painful?
Pain levels are generally mild, and most clients feel little to no discomfort. Before we begin, I apply a topical numbing cream, and I may reapply it during the session to keep you comfortable.
Many clients describe the feeling as light scratches or a tingling sensation.
Afterward, the area may feel like a mild sunburn, but this should subside within a few hours.
How long does microblading last?
Microblading usually lasts 1-3 years, depending on your skin type, age, and skincare routine.
Skin that’s oily or regularly exposed to exfoliating products may require more frequent touch-ups.
To maintain the best look, I suggest a refresh every 12-18 months.
What are the pre- and post-care instructions?
For the best results, please follow these instructions:
Pre-Care:
- Avoid alcohol, aspirin, and ibuprofen for 72 hours prior.
- Skip tanning and facial treatments like peels four weeks before your session.
Post-Care:
-following your procedure you’ll gently dab your brows with a clean paper towel every few hours.
- Cleans your brows gently with the provided after care solution the next morning and night only outside of the shower, do not scrub! Apply a light layer of the provided after care ointment! Using only a rice grain amount to both brows.
- Avoid makeup, water, direct sunlight, and heavy sweating around the brow area for 10-14 days.
- Don’t pick or scratch at any scabs that form.
Following these steps will help your brows heal beautifully and ensure the color stays vibrant.

- Are taking Accutane, have oily and more mature skin.
- Recently had Botox or a chemical peel.
- Are pregnant or nursing.
Your safety is my priority, so feel free to reach out with any specific concerns.
What if I don’t like the outcome?
I understand that getting microblading done is a big decision. I’ll work closely with you to shape and style your brows to your satisfaction before we begin. Minor adjustments can be made during the touch-up session, and remember, microblading is semi-permanent, meaning the pigment fades over time if no additional touch-ups are done.

Microblading & Ombré Aftercare FAQ
At Beautiful Beauty Ink, we’re dedicated to ensuring your brows heal beautifully after your microblading procedure.
Proper aftercare is crucial to achieving the best results. Below is your complete guide to post-appointment care.
How Do I Care for My Brows After Microblading
Blotting (First Hour Post-Appointment):
For the first hour after your appointment, gently blot your brows with a clean tissue to remove lymphatic fluid. If this fluid dries on your brows, it can cause significant scabbing, leading to peeling and flaking.First Wash (Within a Few Hours):
Wash your brows with the product we provide. Here's how to wash your brows:Step A: Wash your hands thoroughly.
Step B: Take a tiny amount of soap and water (wash outside of the shower).
Step C: Gently wash your brows in the direction of the hair using a light swipe. This removes excess oil and lymphatic fluid.
Step D: Rinse thoroughly by cupping water in your hands and ensuring all soap is removed.
Step E: Pat dry using a clean paper towel.
Step F: Apply a thin layer of balm (use a very small amount; avoid goopy application).
Daily Care Routine (For 10 Days):
Wash your brows morning and night using the steps above.
Apply a tiny amount of balm morning and night. (A rice grain-sized amount is enough for both brows—no need for more.)
What Should I Avoid?
Water: Avoid getting your brows wet outside of washing them. This includes avoiding showers, sweating, saunas, hot tubs, and similar activities.
Sunlight: Avoid direct sunlight for two weeks.
Products: For two weeks, avoid makeup, lotions, serums, face washes, shampoo, conditioner, or any products that might touch your brows. After two weeks, continue to avoid products containing active ingredients like acne or anti-aging agents.
Touching: Do not pick, scratch, or rub your brows. Let any scabbing fall off naturally.
Sleeping: Avoid sleeping on your face.
Why Is This Aftercare Important?
Proper aftercare ensures that your brows heal well, maintain their pigment, and last longer.
Following these steps minimizes scabbing and peeling, promoting even and long-lasting results.
